SIX YEAR REPACK

The BPRS systems require a repack at six years, the ballistics can degrade over time plus an inspection of the parachute material and lines to ensure safe operation of the system.

Under current BMAA microlight and LAA rules it is possible for an owner to remove/reinstall the GRS Recovery system on their own aircraft provided that no alterations are made, and original manufacturer parts are used.

Once the GRS has been removed you will need to check with the BMAA/LAA if you are able to continue flying, we understand this may be possible provided you can demonstrate the aircraft remains within the C of G range.

NOTE! If you are in any doubt, please do not attempt to remove the Rocket, if activated serious injury could occur. If activated the Rocket housing is no longer re-usable.

Alternatively, you can request us to remove it for you. Please contact us for details.

Once we have received your system we will dispose of the ballistics and make safe for transport to Galaxy. The current turnaround time at Galaxy is approx.6-8 weeks; this varies depending on their capacity. From June 2024 Galaxy require us to pre-book the repacks via an online system, this is something I will take care off. Once the system has been completely overhauled it will be packaged up for return.  We currently have arrangements with a Czech shipping company who will transport up to two systems at a time by road direct to the UK. Providing we have one other systems for shipping the cost of this may be shared.
